Rocket League Modding

How did I go from making simple Windows utilities and system tools to building modding software for Rocket League?

It started as an experiment. I wanted to see how far I could go.

On May 9, 2026, I started a project called Alphy. It was originally meant only for my cousin and me.

Even at the beginning, the app had automatic backups and restoration, along with an update system.

But it only had two concrete features: Alphy Boost and Alphy Boost Audio. They worked by replacing existing UPK files with pre-made modded versions.

Eventually, I decided the app needed an upgrade.

The upgrade allowed users to add pre-made modded UPK files to a mods folder. They would automatically appear in the app, making the mods much easier to enable and disable.

As time went on, I kept improving the UI.

Then I turned the project into a mod manager and started sharing it across the internet: modding websites, Reddit, GitHub, TikTok, and Discord.

Until then, the project had been entirely open source on GitHub. It was my first publicly shared project, and I needed to earn the community's trust. As the project grew and I added Cloudflare infrastructure, security concerns eventually led me to continue development as a closed-source project.

On June 22, 2026, a few people joined the Alphy Discord server and asked whether I wanted to collaborate. At first, I wasn't sure. Eventually, I decided to commit to working with them and use Alphy as the foundation for a brand-new project.

That's when Rocket Swap came to life.

I started a brand-new project, upgraded the framework, reworked the codebase, rebuilt the Cloudflare Worker, reorganized the GitHub repositories, and much more.

I collaborated with Nata to build the app into what it is today.
